Whitby charter boats cover probably some of the best cod fishing grounds in the country, the town still holds the record for the heaviest cod caught on rod and line in British waters, weighing in at an incredible 58lb 7ounces! The fish was caught by Noel Cook aboard Stuart Johnson's boat, Sea Trek way back in 1992.
Plenty of species are caught on the whitby charter boats besides cod of course, ling, (a specimen of
26lb 2 ounces caught from Paul Kilpatrick's boat Sea Otter 2
currently leads this years 'Summer Festival'), pollack, halibut bass, etc to name but a few.
