The Velocity 850 Braid Surf Reel is designed with a wider spool.  This reel has become a big seller.  No need for backing to fill your spool up with this fixed spool.  Built with quality and longevity in mind.  With 8 + 1 marine stainless steel ball bearing's and marine stainless steel main shaft we have produced a reel which would normally cost over a hundred pounds.  The Velocity 850 Braid Surf Reel is designed for distance casting.  Look after this reel and it won't let you down!
